The European Union–Africa Business Forum Facility was established by the European Commission in 2024 to organise the continental European Union–Africa Business Forum (EABF) every three years and support the bilateral European Union–Africa Business Forums (EUBFs) organised by the European Union Delegations with their African partners.
The European Union–Africa Business Forum Facility is supported by a project management team, tasked with coordinating and implementing a 5-year action programme. The Facility organizes activities and events cohesively, ensuring clear direction and fostering interaction among all private sector stakeholders participating in the European Union–Africa Business Forum (EABF), with strategic guidance provided by DG International Partnerships (DG INTPA).
The programme is built on the following activities:
Supporting the organisation of Business Fora at both continental and bilateral levels for strengthened government-to-government (G2G) and business-to-government (B2G) dialogue, and networking engagement with private sector stakeholders., Facilitating networking among enterprises through business-to-business (B2B) interactions, matchmaking, and the organisation of economic and business missions., Increasing capacity of European Union and African Business Organisations and strengthening linkages between Business Support Organisations (BSOs) through training, webinars, and workshops., Enhancing communication and knowledge sharing through dialogues and outreach sessions.
The Global Gateway is central to the European Union–Africa Business Forum Facility, which aims to support and encourage private sector engagement around its strategy, priority sectors, and the political priorities endorsed by the European Union–African Union Summit.
