PROFILE Ambasdador AKADIRI
Ambassador Aminou AKADIRI is a highly respected figure in promoting regional and continental economic integration in Africa, with nearly 25 years of experience in the field.
As Executive Director of the Federation of West African Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FEWACCI) and the Africa Union Business Council (AfBC), he has developed exceptional skills in private sector development and cross-border trade policies.
His contributions to economic development in Africa are numerous.
Amb AKADIRI played a crucial role in developing ECOWAS protocols on trade, investment, and free movement, particularly the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA). He has also served as a consultant and expert at the ECOWAS Commission, drafting the ECOWAS investment policy and code.
Some of his notable roles and achievements include:
- Executive Director, FEWACCI: Enhancing the participation of the West African private sector in regional economic integration.
- Executive Director, Africa Union Business Council: Promoting regional and continental economic integration.
- Member, Technical Committee: Organizing the ECOWAS Business Forum/ECOWAS Investment Forum and implementing its recommendations.
- UNIDO Expert: Business-to-business connectivity,
- West Africa Focal : He is the Regional focal point for the Organisation of Africa Caribbean and Pacific State ( OACPS) in ECOWAS Region,
- Vice President : He is the Vice President of OACPS Business Forum.
- Regional Representative : He is the West Africa Representative of UN Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR/ARISE) and Connecting Business Initiative (CBI).
Akadiri's expertise has been recognized through numerous distinctions for his contributions to economic development in Africa and beyond. He is a graduate of the African Center for Specialized Studies in Management (CESAG/BCEAO).
