Julia von Franz

Julia von Franz is the Policy and Advocacy Officer at the Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE), the global decentralised renewable energy business association representing more than 200 Members.

She works closely together with ARE members, as well as international and domestic partners to improve policy and business development conditions for private sector companies in emerging markets. Her role includes conceptualising and driving policy and advocacy campaigns which involves representing ARE at high-level policy fora, enhancing relationships with key public sector bodies, governments and foundations, as well as liaising with ARE partners on international and national policy topics.

Prior to ARE, Julia worked for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and Fipra International Ltd., a network of public affairs consultancies advising clients on government regulations and regulatory policy issues. Julia has an MSc in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of London.
